Todd V. Swanson, M.D.
Dr. Swanson graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1981 and Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri
in 1985.
He completed his orthopaedic training at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California in 1990 and was then fellowship
trained in total joint replacements of the hip, knee, and shoulder at Metropolitan/Mount Sinai Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Swanson focuses his practice on arthritic conditions of the hip,
knee and shoulder.
He also serves as a consultant for orthopaedic implant companies and heads the Desert Orthopaedic Research Foundation, a not-for-profit research
organization working to benefit patients with orthopaedic problems. Several research studies and orthopaedic implant design innovations have been
developed through the work of Dr. Swanson and this Foundation.
Dr. Swanson also heads the Adult Reconstructive Fellowship program, a post-residency training program which prepares the orthopaedic graduate
for a career in total joint replacement surgery.
